Treadmill power consumption can vary widely depending on a number of factors:  User weight, belt speed, treadmill incline, belt & deck lubrication, belt & deck wear, and temperature all have an effect.  A safe estimate for many scenarios is 1200 watts, though some situations may require up to 1800 watts.

To determine the cost to operate, multiply your treadmill’s measured power consumption by the length of time used and electricity cost.  Consult an electrician or appropriate technician to measure your treadmill’s current power consumption.
