Why Doesn't My Indoor Cycle Show RPM?

PROBLEM:

The console does not display RPM.

SOLUTION:

1. Make sure the housing at locations 2 and 3 are properly connected.
2. Make sure the magnet at location 4 has not fallen off.
3. Make sure that the reed switch (location 1) is pointing directly at the magnet. (On the parts list,
   the reed switch is reference number 84-4.)
4. Make sure that the distance between the tip of the reed switch and the magnet is no more than 1 cm.
